Smoothies are a great way to start your day in a powerful way.
They’re loaded with nutrients and easy to enjoy throughout the morning. One of the most important things I want you to keep in mind is that if it doesn’t taste good, don’t drink it!!!
Find a smoothie combo that you actually enjoy—it’ll make it easier to keep these powerhouses in your regular morning rotation.
Smoothie tips:
- Invest in a good blender—it makes a HUGE difference drinking a smooth smoothie vs. a chunky one.
- Keep frozen fruit on hand—Costco has a great selection of organic frozen fruit so it’s easy to stay stocked up.
- Get creative. One of the best things about smoothies is they’re pretty versatile so don’t be afraid to try new things or toss in whatever seasonal fruit you have on hand. Equally important—don’t be afraid to toss a smoothie fail!
- Boost your smoothies with superfoods—these are an easy add in and kick up the nutrient profile. Two of my favorite add ins are chia seeds and flax seeds. You can also add in a protein powder, nuts, oats—whatever works for YOU.
- Prep ahead with smoothie packs. Measure out your ingredients, place them in a glass jar or bag and store in the freezer so that all you have to do is add the liquid any of your boosters and blend.
I make big smoothies to either share or drink throughout the day so you may need to adjust the quantities to suit your lifestyle. I will also add water depending on how thick the smoothie is so feel free to adjust as you need to.
Hope you love these smoothie recipes as much as I do!
