Curious about who you are and what you want?

StormyBeachBlogPicI was recently on vacation with my family in Stone Harbor…In my favorite place with my favorite people.

On Thursday a storm was coming in so I went to the beach to check it out. It was really neat to see this triangle of storm growing and moving. It looked so powerful and beautiful.

I walked along the beach for a bit before heading back to the house.

As I walked along the water, feeling the sand and the surf, I realized that this is what it’s all about for me. This feeling of inspiration, connection and beauty. I don’t feel it all of the time, but when I do, I know that is exactly what I want to tap into.

I love the salty ocean and the soft sand. I love the sunshine, the breeze and the storms. I love the connection across all areas that the shore brings.

And that’s when it really hit me. I do what I do because I truly want to help people see the possibility of who they are and what they want. For me, this connection to who I am and what I want is especially strong and clear when I am at the shore.

Do you know who you are, truly who you are? Do you feel like you can genuinely be yourself in all situations? Do you comfortably ask for what you want and need?

Do you know what you want, truly what you want? Not what everyone else wants for you or what you think you should want. Do you know what fills you up? What gives you purpose and joy?

And if you know who you are and what you want, do you believe that living in alignment with those desires is truly possible?

[bctt tweet=”It is in that possibility that amazing things happen. Dreams really do come true. “]

There was a part of me that denied my desire to live a vibrant, deeply fulfilling life because it felt a little selfish…not very humble or coach like. But I talk with people ALL THE TIME about how important it is to prioritize your desires and needs because when you do that you can show up better for everyone else in your life. You have more to give when you are willing to receive.

Part of that for me is acknowledging that a thriving business is one that is financially lucrative. It is one that offers me flexibility and freedom to do the things I want to do and be with the people I want to be with. AND it is one that allows for me to show up strong and have a big impact on the world.

So often we shut off part of who we are or what we want because we have been taught that’s what we should do in order to be a good person living a good life. Often we believe that things that we want are limited or conditional (if I have what I want that means someone else won’t be able to have it too) – that’s simply not true!

We are all here living this one precious life and we all get to enjoy it to the fullest. Take advantage while you’re here.

This weekend spend some time thinking about who you are and what you want. Identify all the ways you deny who you are and what you want (ie. seems silly or selfish, possible judgment, fear, etc). Then just begin to consider the possibility…what if you could be exactly who you are and embrace all parts of you? What if you could do and have what you truly wanted? If this were possible, in what ways would your experience of life be different?

What is there within you that wants to be growing and moving toward something powerful and beautiful?

Here’s to believing in possibility!
